The Amstrad Fidelity Videomatic VMC 100 was
Amstrad's 1st VHSC camcorder and was the cheapest camcorder available on the market at the time.
Some consider the VMC100 to be the first "palmcorder" as it was relatively small and could be held in one hand.
Everything about the video camera was cheap. It had fixed focus, no zoom, used inferior sealed lead acid batteries and generally felt cheap! However, it did meet the demands of the market feeding the public hunger for affordable home video equipment and as such was quite a success.
